and 2 makes 3

Storytellers

My gift is my story,

My story is my heart,

Take it,

Plant it in the garden

of your memory.

Nurture it and watch it bloom.

See its flowers carried

by the winds of voices

so that the seeds may

scatter

to all the corners of the world.

My story and your story

will live forever

Eliud Nieves

Eliud Nieves

Eliud Nieves has been a storyteller since as far back as he can remember. It all began with his mother telling him bedtime stories in his native Puerto Rico. The typical Puerto Rican folktale always began with “Once upon a time and 2 makes 3;” hence this storytelling duo’s name. Eliud is an author, artist and educator. He has been in the education field for over thirty years, during which time he wrote many stories and plays that he developed for the enjoyment of his students and founded the Brevard County Schools Elementary Storytelling Festival. Eliud has a knack for re-telling folktales, fairytales and fables in a very unique and amusing way.

Merideth Nieves

Merideth Nieves was an elementary music teacher for nearly fifteen years during which time she used all forms of performance with her students, including the art of storytelling. She has been both storyteller and facilitator for her students as they created musical performances based on some of the best loved stories of many cultures. Raised on Aesop’s Fables, Kipling’s Just So Stories and The Brothers Grimm, Merideth draws on a wealth of fond memories and experiences in preparing her stories. Merideth is an accomplished vocalist who is experienced in a wide range of styles and often uses music to enhance her storytelling.
